Our patented techniques “paint” cables and microducts into the surface of pavement. Our technologies enable installers to efficiently install telecommunication and other networks. We enable customers an affordable, on-demand connectivity solution, without the need to bury cables underground or string along utility poles. Some end-users include federal, state, and local government, campus and business IT directors, Internet Service Providers, network operators, and utility contractors. Who TRAXyL is looking for:

TRAXyL is looking for an experienced Electrical Systems Technician to join our product development team. In this role, you'll be responsible for tackling advanced tasks related to the development of innovative machines and specialized tools. Your duties will include conceptualizing solutions, selecting appropriate electrical components, evaluating design trade-offs, and making informed decisions to achieve optimal design outcomes. As a key player in our collaborative environment, you'll work closely with engineers and fellow technicians to meet project objectives. Your skillset should include:

  • Can lead and collaborate with teams to achieve technical goals and deliverables.

  • Can design, install, maintain, and repair electrical and electro-mechanical equipment with a focus on quality and precision.

  • Has a successful track record of overcoming technical challenges.

  • Can plan, execute, and review the results of component, subsystem, and system tests.

Job requirements

You are a great fit for this role if you have:

  • 3+ years of technical experience

  • Good understanding of small engines

  • Ability to perform electrical diagnostics

  • Ability to design and install wire harnesses on equipment and vehicles

  • Prior experience building assemblies

  • Ability to specify wire sizes based on voltage and current load

  • Ability to assist in specification of connectors and contacts based on voltage and current load and any tooling required (crimpers etc.)

  • Ability to assist in specification of electrical components (power supplies, contactors, relays etc.) for control panels

  • Ability to capture schematics of electrical wiring on as built units and new designs using a schematic tool such as SolidWorks Electrical, Visio, etc.

  • Ability to learn basic coding skills (C++, Python, IEC 61131 Languages) 

  • Basic I/O and Sensor integration Knowledge 

  • Experience and ability to wire and route electrical enclosures
